(EN) La Mosaic is a bilingual French and English publication founded in January of 2019 by former University of Toronto student Grace El Chami. Our publication includes the works of fellow university students and writers, which cover a range of topics, such as current affairs, politics, language and culture, arts and more. Our magazine’s name, which may at first glance seem like it contains a spelling mistake, was created by former exchange student Aina de Lapparent, who was inspired by our bilingual identity, and intentionally paired the French article “La” with the English spelling of the word “Mosaic”. As students at the University of Toronto, we have the honour of encountering people from all over the globe. Through La Mosaic, we hope to promote bilingualism and inclusivity, and reflect the immense diversity which can be found within our school and Toronto.

All views, thoughts, and opinions expressed in the texts included in La Mosaic belong solely to the authors of those articles, and do not necessarily represent those of our committee.

(FR) La Mosaic est une publication bilingue français-anglais fondée en janvier 2019 par Grace El Chami, ancienne étudiante de l’Université de Toronto. Notre publication rassemble des textes d’écrivains et d’étudiants universitaires, qui portent sur divers sujets, tels que l’actualité, la politique, les langues et cultures, les arts et plus. Le nom de notre magazine, qui à première vue semble contenir une faute d’orthographe, a été créé par l’ancienne étudiante en échange Aina de Lapparent, qui s’est inspirée de notre identité bilingue pour regrouper l’article français « la » avec l’orthographe anglaise du mot « mosaïque ». En tant qu’étudiants à l’Université de Toronto, nous avons l’honneur de rencontrer des gens qui viennent de partout. À travers La Mosaic, nous espérons promouvoir le bilinguisme et l’inclusivité, et refléter l’immense diversité de notre école et de Toronto.
